What are Coupons?

Coupons can be used online or instore via printed coupons or mobile phones. Coupon Codes are made up of a series of letters or numbers. You can find these on coupon websites like Coupon Sprite, social media, emails or leaflets.

Types of coupons.

There are 2 main types; instore and online.

Instore Coupons.

Instore coupons will often come in the form of a printable coupon. This can be shown in the merchant store to receive a discount or special offer. Just present the coupon and the shop assistant will scan the barcode and give you your discount.

Online Coupons.

Online coupons are for use on retailer websites or apps. This will come in the form of a coupon code that can be inserted into a promotional box at the checkout.

A coupon code is also known as a promotional coupon code, promo code, discount code, offer code or any variation of this. In practice they are all the same.

There are also different types including:

• % off coupon codes.
• $ off coupon codes.
• Free Shipping coupon codes.
• Free gift coupon codes.

Some have minimum order values, such as 25% off when you spend $100.

How do I use Coupons?

Instore coupons can be used by taking a printed coupon or mobile coupon to the store. At the checkout the store worker will usually scan your coupon in.

Online coupons will be applied at the checkout. The Coupon code box can be found on the checkout page. See the below screenshot. Copy and paste your coupon on the box and click apply. The discount will be applied and can be seen in an updated total.

Why can I only use one coupon code?

With several types of codes in circulation, allowing you to ‘stack’ your promotion codes could lead to a huge discount. This could mean selling at a loss. Only one coupon code can be used per transaction. Sometimes these will not work on top of sale prices.

Sometimes you will be allowed to stack offers, but this will be mentioned in the terms and conditions. It’s always worth a try!

What if my coupons don’t work?

If you have clicked ‘apply’ with an incorrect Services coupon code then you will see a message like this. ‘Error, this promotional code does not exist’.

If this does happen then make sure that you have entered the code correctly. It’s best to copy and paste your coupon code. Remember that promo codes can be case sensitive too.

A common reason for coupons not working is that the code has expired. All coupons online and on paper will show an expiry date.

If you have found your code on a trustworthy source then you might like to contact them too. They will be able to send you a new code.

Where can coupons be used?

Pretty much every major store will accept coupons. Some who rarely do offer coupons are Apple and Amazon. Also some of the very high end brands defer from promoting coupons as they feel it might damage their brand.

Products compatable with a Coupon Code.

Often, there are no restrictions on the product use with coupon codes. Sometimes the restriction will be to a category or only on full price. Gift cards can rarely be bought at a discount too.

Common types of coupon codes.

There are many types of coupon code. The most common are percentage off orders. Here are some examples of recent coupon codes:

• 35% Off New Products.
• 10% off all orders.
• $25 off when you spend $200.
• $50 off when you spend $500.
• Free Courses with a coupon code.
• Free shipping on your order.
• Free gift on orders over $100.
